Portraiture, to me, is less about creating a perfectly posed image and more about capturing what makes someone unmistakably themselves. The expression between poses, the movement, the confidence, the quiet moments, the details you may not even realize you carry - those are usually the photographs I love most.

I’m especially drawn to black-and-white imagery because it strips everything back to the essentials. Without color competing for attention, you notice the light, texture, emotion, expression, and personality. Some sessions may feel polished and editorial, others candid and completely natural. I don’t believe every portrait needs to follow the same formula. The person in front of the camera should shape the direction of the shoot.

Portrait sessions can be creative, classic, cinematic, understated, bold, personal, or somewhere in between. Whether we’re documenting a milestone, building a professional image, creating something purely artistic, or simply taking photographs because this season of your life deserves to exist somewhere outside of a camera roll, the goal is always to create images that feel genuine to you.
